Audiences are the most common way to organize and group contacts, used by 80% of businesses. Audiences require manual addition and removal of contacts.
Usage of audiences:
Businesses can use contact CRM data to understand better their customers and their individual preferences, behaviors, and interests. Equipped with this data, marketers can create unique audience segments, such as loyal customers or customers with kids, who may shop in specific categories or take certain safety features into account when researching products.
A Segment is an organized list of contacts automatically generated by a set of conditions.
Segments are used to create target audiences based on shared data. When you create a segment, you'll set conditions to filter contacts based on the information available in your audience. Segments are primarily used with automations.
Usage of segments:
- Group all contacts who interacted with the review automation and left positive feedback.
- Group all contacts who didn’t interact with review automation added between particular dates and have a specific tag.
